PNP DRUG ENFORCEMENT GROUP (PNP DEG), CAMP BGEN RAFAEL T
CRAME, QUEZON CITY – Operatives of the PNP DEG under the leadership of
PBGEN ROMEO M CARAMAT, JR, Director, PNP DEG arrested a Chinese national
and his two cohorts and seized an estimated value of PHP 5.6 billion worth of
suspected shabu (Methamphetamine Hydrochloride) during a buy-bust operation at
#2 Reley Street, Barangay Lias, Marilao, Bulacan.
The PNP DEG Special Operation Unit 4 (SOU-4) headed by PLTCOL
JHOANA P ROSALES together with Bulacan Police Provincial Office and Marilao
City Police Station (CPS) at about 3:00 PM conducted an anti-drug operation in the
afternoon of June 4, 2020 which resulted to the arrest of a Chinese national
identified as YUWEN CAI with two Filipina named as ANGELA MIOLE TULIO and
MA. LYN MIOLE TULIO.
Seized from the suspects were 63 boxes containing more or less 828 kgs of
shabu with an estimated DDB value of PHP 5,630,400,000.00. Recovered also from
their possession were buy-bust boodle money amounting to PHP 1,000,000.00.
The confiscated illegal drugs will be turned over at PNP Crime Laboratory for
examination while the suspects are now in SOU-4 office for further investigation and
documentation in preparation for filing of appropriate criminal charges.
This operation was the 4th major operation conducted by PNP-DEG since
the country started battling the COVID-19 pandemic.
PBGEN CARAMAT said “We are doubling our effort to account for more big
fishes in the illegal drug industry in the country with the help of other PNP units and
the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency. In particular, we are targeting suspects
connected with major Chinese drug trafficking rings who are using our country as a
major base for their operations.”
Police General Archie Francisco F Gamboa, Chief, PNP commended the
operating troops and said that the PNP will continue its unwavering efforts to
eradicate illegal drugs within the country. ###
