PNP DRUG ENFORCEMENT GROUP (PNP DEG), CAMP BGEN RAFAEL T CRAME, QUEZON CITY – Operatives of SOU-9 PNP DEG under the direct supervision of PBGEN ARMANDO S DE LEON, Director, PNP DEG were able to neutralized Mansor Mangoda, a resident of Brgy. Higad, Margos Sa Tubig, Zamboanga Del Sur and seized an estimated value of PHP 20.4 million worth of suspected shabu (Methamphetamine Hydrochloride) during a buy-bust operation which resulted to an armed encounter in Brgy Digon, Margos Sa Tubig, Zamboanga Del Sur.
Special Operations Unit 9 (SOU-9) Commander PLTCOL JOHN FRANCIS P ENCINAREAL reported that at about 4:20 PM of October 1, 2020, they conducted an anti-drug operation which resulted to an armed encounter and neutralization of the said suspect.
Seized from the operation were more or less 3 kilograms of shabu with an estimated standard drug price of PHP 20,400,000.00.
The confiscated illegal drugs will be turned over at PNP Crime Laboratory for examination and documentation in preparation for filing of appropriate criminal charges, however, suspect was pronounced dead by attending physician despite the effort of immediate medical treatment.
This operation was the 6th major operation conducted by PNP-DEG since the country started battling the COVID-19 pandemic.
PBGEN DE LEON said “We are doubling our effort to account for more big fishes in the illegal drug industry in the country in line with the 9 Point Agenda of the Chief PNP”.
Police General Camilo Pancratius "Pikoy" Pascua Cascolan, Chief, PNP commended the operating troops and said that the PNP will continue its unwavering efforts to eradicate illegal drugs in the country. ###
